Reconditioning Services

Maximize Packaging Efficiency with UN-Certified Industrial Reconditioning

In modern industrial supply chains, maximizing container reuse is one of the most effective strategies to lower operational overhead while advancing corporate sustainability goals. Mauser Packaging Solutions delivers comprehensive reconditioning services for intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), industrial steel drums, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic containers—extending the active lifecycle of your packaging assets without compromising product safety or regulatory compliance.

Every container returned through our global collection network undergoes rigorous thermal, mechanical, and chemical processing. Our ISO-certified facilities utilize automated washing lines, ultra-high-pressure internal cleaning systems, precision de-denting equipment, and leak-detection technology. This process guarantees that reconditioned packaging preserves original UN ratings (UN 31HA1, UN 1A1, UN 1H1) and strictly conforms to DOT, RID/ADR, and IMDG dangerous goods transportation regulations.

Cost Reduction

Significantly lower unit packaging expenditure by reusing industrial cages and drum shells instead of purchasing 100% new units.

Carbon Emission Reduction

Reconditioned containers generate up to 70% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to manufacturing brand-new industrial containers.

UN Rating Integrity

Full compliance testing ensures all reconditioned IBCs and drums meet certified UN performance specifications for hazardous materials handling.

Comprehensive Reconditioning Portfolio

Our specialized reconditioning capabilities span a broad spectrum of industrial packaging types, providing tailored container refurbishment and closed-loop management services for multinational chemical, lubricant, coating, and food manufacturers:

1. Composite & Stainless Steel IBC Totes

Composite intermediate bulk containers (1000L / 275-330 gallon) are completely inspected upon arrival. Depending on customer requirements and previous contents, IBC cages are washed, straightened, and repaired. Inner plastic bottles are either thoroughly sanitized via multi-stage chemical washing systems or replaced with brand-new, high-purity HDPE bottles (rebottled IBCs), pairing a new inner container with a recycled outer cage.

2. Industrial Steel Drums (Tight-Head & Open-Head)

Steel drums undergo high-temperature thermal de-coating, shot blasting, de-denting, mechanical seam reshaping, and automated leak-proof pressure testing. Internal surfaces can be lined with specialized epoxy-phenolic coatings or left plain depending on chemical compatibility specifications, followed by high-grade external refinishing.

3. Rigid Plastic Drums & Jerrycans

HDPE plastic drums and tight-head containers are evaluated for structural integrity. Qualified units pass through automated multi-head washing systems using eco-friendly cleaning agents, followed by dry-air purging and digital ultrasonic wall-thickness validation.

Rigorous 4-Step Quality & Safety Protocol

To maintain absolute trust and safety for global procurement buyers, Mauser Packaging Solutions enforces standardized quality control procedures across all global service sites:

01
Incoming Inspection
Detailed screening of previous container residues, structural integrity checking, and verification of container suitability for reconditioning.
02
Automated Washing
High-pressure, multi-stage hot water and solvent cleaning paired with environmentally safe neutralizing rinses to eliminate cross-contamination risks.
03
Automated Leak Testing
Every reconditioned drum and IBC container is pressure-tested via pneumatic differential sensors to guarantee 100% leak-proof sealing.
04
UN Certification Marking
Qualified units are re-stamped with official UN approval codes, ensuring immediate readiness for international shipping and transport.
